Where to start? I've often wondered about this whole blogging malarky, and thought I'd give it a go. I've been reading blogs seriously now for a few months, particularly surrounding the effects that religion, in all its guises, is having on the world. Some of it is remarkably well written and researched, like John Loftus's blog 'Debunking Christianity', while other content is less than engaging.
I don't really know where this blog will end up. I want to try and further the cause of New Zealand's atheists, which aren't really well supported at the moment. There's the NZ Association of Rationalists and Humaists, who don't really seem to know where they're going, nor do they provide support to anyone outside of Auckland.
I would welcome comments from anyone about the direction this blog ought to take, or from anyone who would like to join me in keeping the blog alive. There is clearly a great deal of work to do in advancing the cause of atheism in New Zealand and in countering the false claims of the various religious groups who continue to use their religions to try to gain advantage in our society.
